Hello Time travelers

Welcome to a journey through time and space. In this blog I am to cover topics of Doctor Who that I have not covered on YouTube and the podcast Blue Box Files. The show is a big part of my life and I get inspiration all the time. This blog has been inspired by the timeliadies as I think we need more fans to publish writing about the show or even expanding the show.

I have been doing YouTube for about 11 years so there are not any topics I have not talked about in the world of Doctor Who but let’s see where the opening takes us.

The blog is aimed to showcase how I can write about the show to give me confidence when pitching for the Doctor Who Magazine.

On the 8th may 2026 Big Finish launched this year’s new writers competition in memory of the Big Finish writer Paul Spragg. The aim of getting the next generation of Doctor Who writers. Each year there is a brief and on that brief is what doctor that the short trip has to be based on. For the past few years I have sat by and watched as other people sat staring at their computer screens trying to find the best way to tell the story they wanted to. But this year I thought that it was something that I wanted to give a go. I opened up the document and typed out the title of the submission piece but as I sat and looked at last year’s winning entry and listened to it as well because when you win they make the audio and everyone gets it for free. Within the audio download you also get what the person submitted. It led me to the point where I thought that I was not ready to do it this year and that I will have a go at it next year when I have improved my writing.

Writing for Doctor Who is hard to do but the more I practice in a none pressure environment then I think my writing will improve

So to round up the very first Doctor Who blog I have learnt that if I write no fiction Doctor Who and fiction Doctor Who then I think I would be ready to enter. There we have it the very first blog post and now you know how this will go

Until next time

Bye
