A Brand New Chapter 

25th February 2025 saw the second series of the tv show We Might Regret this and one of the moments in the series is that one of the characters gets onto a New York writing course. This made me think I just want to write and it should not matter what I say I just want to write it down. It inspired me to write this. 

On my website tommason.uk I have a page for my writing. On the page it includes my old blogger posts, creative writing , some of my radio and visual scripts, my published books, my substack articles , and my medium Albert Flowerpot diaries. Having all this is good as it showcases how I can write in different ways but I think I now want a new platform where I can just do whatever I want. 

Having my old blogger posts on my website on their own pages is okay but looks a bit out of place. So for whatever this is, I am going to find a new website that I can share this but will also look good on my website as that is the main place I would share my work. I know for a fact this might have a few grammar errors but I don’t think that should matter. I am just expressing my passion for the written or should I say typed format. 

When looking into hosting platforms for this work I have found that my website will be the best place for it. I know that I would have to find a way for it to not look like my old blog as I don’t think this would count as a blog but I will need to google it before I finish writing this.

Whatever this will be called has no pressure attached and will get new editions whenever I just want to sit down and write. 

I spent a good few hours googling what the name could be as on my website the headers are the name of what they are officially called. The one I liked but don’t think match is a digital magazine as I think you could call my work on substack as a digital magazine as I write articles on topics that matter to me. 

I have a feeling this is going to be fun. The behind the scenes for this work is as follows 1. Open google documents and give it a title. 2. Start writing. 3. Have a break. 4. Give it a new title as I think the only title is bad. 5. Finish the work and change the font size. 6. Go to my website, create a new page and paste in the work. 7. Press publish and go to my writing page create a new segment give it the general title create a button which has the writings title and a link to the page. Finally 8. Share it online and hope people read it. Due to it being on my own website I can’t see if anyone has looked at it but I hope they do. 

The layout for this will change each time I do it as I will learn the best ways to display the work. Each post (not sure that is the right word) will have it’s own page on my website so every time I make one each page will look different. 

You can see by this that I am just writing down the things that come out of my head. I have just thought I can call this a writer’s journey as each time I write this I am learning new ways to tell a factual story. It’s like if I made a documentary about my life and it was just a scramble of ideas.

I think that just about neatly rounds it up. It’s been fun and I hope I do more soon. Don’t count on it.
